¡ La Latina during the week: a quiet and cozy home on an invented street !

“Although for many people La Latina is sun, blue sky and terraces, for me personally it is home, tranquility and above all, during the week. So my illustration is set in that moment of autumn dusk, where people, many residents of the neighborhood, despite the cold, occupy their terraces, and the orange light invades the facades, their cobblestones and the windows with their balconies come to life. For me La Latina is that.” comments Polinho.

It is an “invented” street, in the style of Las Cavas, with San Francisco el Grande and San Andrés dominating the sky, its old and worn streets, its balconies, its people, calm, peace, available chairs… La Latina during the week.

Pablo García Cordal (Polinho) is Galician, an architect, a lover of Madrid, but above all, a draftsman.

He was first discovered by his painting teacher at school, who encouraged him to continue perfecting himself at the School of Fine Arts. Later, public opinion discovered him during the pandemic with his illustration of Madrid.

Guest artist at the Thyssen Museum and IE University, professor of drawing at the European Institute of Design (IED) and on-line with Domestika. Polinho has drawn for different publishers, cultural magazines, wineries and public institutions, among other works.

He created Madrid City Council's illustration for the 2023 Christmas campaign.
